Region IV Representative Nominee

Carola Mann

CM

Biography

I have been with Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, FL since 2015, the University's second year operating. One of the highlights of my time here was getting initial Federal Student Aid program approval, opening the door for many new aid options for our students. Since then, like many of you, I have gone through a pandemic, a Program Review and currently experiencing the delayed FAFSA. Challenges are around every corner in Financial Aid. My professional passion is helping students on their path to graduation. My personal passion is running. I have completed a bunch of races, including five marathons. However, much like this year’s FAFSA, I am not fast.

Statement of Candidacy

My name is Carrie Mann, and I am the Director of Financial Aid at Florida Polytechnic University. While attending a Director’s Summit recently, we were asked to write down something we wanted to personally commit to this year…I wrote down, “Get involved in my organizations!” I have been in the Financial Aid industry for 18 years. I have been a member of FASFAA, SASFAA and NASFAA, attended many conferences and sat on a few panels over the years, but never took that next step. I want to serve and support our Region. With all the changes upon us, communication is key. As Region IV Representative, I will do my best to promote strong community engagement and facilitate collaboration within our region.
