FASFAA 2021 Conference Logo

FASFAA Family,

Welcome to your 2021 Annual Conference!

The Conference Committee and Executive Board are happy to deliver this year’s conference virtually. it was my hope that we would be able to be together in person, but due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it is safer for us to be together in a virtual space during one of the most challenging years in the profession.

As we come together over the next few days, I hope that we all will take time to engage one another, share expertise, anecdotes and recharge our batteries. Special thanks to the Conference Committee, Executive Board and volunteers for all of your assistance in planning and operating this year’s conference!

We are happy to provide you with a comprehensive and exciting program of training topics to help you learn and understand all of the nuances in financial aid. It is also my hope that you will take this opportunity to network, meet new people and learn as much as possible to keep your financial aid skills on point.

The charity for 2020-2021 is Community Foundation of South Lake. FASFAA’s goal is to raise $3,500 to support the charity. College bound recipients are identified through the foundation’s DREAM Initiative. DREAM students will have all of the resources, support and services necessary for success; to ensure this happens, the Foundation decided to focus on 20 students living in South Lake County, mainly in the 34711 zip code. FASFAA is also supporting the Mascotte Charter School in Mascotte, FL with procurement of school supplies. Donations can be made here.

We also need your support for the Bonnie Pirkle Memorial Scholarship fund. These funds are used to provide scholarships to students throughout the state. The elected officers of the executive board are each provided an award allocation to use for students at their respective institutions. Last year, with your help, FASFAA was able to provide over $10,000 in scholarships to students in need!

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank our Business Partners for their support and partnership for the conference. Without your support, the conference wouldn’t be possible!

Sharing the vision and shaping the future is our conference theme. In these uncertain times, we will need clear vision for what lies ahead (2023-2024)!

We hope that you enjoy your time and that we provide you with tools that will assist in “ensuring access to all…”
