President's Message

Greetings FASFAA Family,

The 2021-2022 FASFAA year is underway, and your Executive Board wasted no time by conducting our first official board meeting on July 1, 2021.   We hope and pray that the coming year will bring us “Back Together Again” and FASFAA is leading the way with several in person training events.  Be on the lookout for details regarding the following events!

  • Regional Workshops
  • Clock Hour workshop in late October
  • New Aid and Intermediate Aid Officer workshop in late January
  • Directors’ Summit in early March
  • FASFAA Annual Conference May 31-June 3 in Ponte Vedra.

This fall, FASFAA will partner with FCAN and OSFA to offer two virtual High School Counselor workshops in September. We will cover the FAFSA basics and spend time delving into the difficult topics of unique family situations, professional judgments, and how to support our students who are ineligible for federal aid.  If you are interested in assisting with this project, please complete a volunteer form and select “Financial Literacy / Early Awareness Committee”.

FASFAA will again be offering the virtual LEAP program for a select group of aspiring leaders in our association.  Watch for the application announcement and encourage our new and aspiring financial aid administrators to apply.  I guarantee that the LEAP program will offer personal and professional growth opportunities that will exceed your expectations.

In a year where we may face uncertainties with budgets and travel constraints, I urge you to continue your support of FASFAA and the training events we will offer.  We have a big year planned and so many opportunities for training, networking, and volunteerism.  The FASFAA Volunteer Form is active and we are ready to get you involved.  The newly developed 5 year Strategic Plan will guide our efforts, as we will strive to accomplish as many goals and objectives as possible in the coming year.

Thank you for the meaningful work you do everyday to support our students and each other.  I cannot wait to see each of you at a FASFAA event this year!
