President's Message

Happy FASFAA new year!

This year, like all the others, has come quickly.  We have so much in the works for this year and I can’t wait for you to see what the FASFAA board and committees have in store for you, our members.

While we are in the early stages, please make sure you’re on the main listserv to receive our emails and updates, please follow us on social media – we just launched our LinkedIn page ( and we’re also on Insta (@OfficialFasfaa).

We will continue to provide trainings throughout the year.  We will have our annual clock hour workshop and the regions will have their fall workshops in person.  The webinar coordinator is busy putting together a slate of webinar trainings for you as well.  Continue to check our pages on the website ( often as it will be updated frequently.  If there are any topics you would like to see covered, please feel free to contact me or our VP of Training, Jessica Ly.

While it’s still early in the year, here are some goals that we’ve been tasked with and will strive to accomplish throughout the year.

  1. Continue to review and follow our Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024.
  2. Grow our membership.
  3. Continue to offer relevant trainings and workshops in person or virtually.
  4. Support the Bonnie Pirkle Scholarship fund as well as the local charity (once selected).
  5. Mutual support of our business partners, you can learn more about them on our website.
  6. Advocacy on behalf of our members and their institutions, students and families.
  7. Assemble – FASFAA is a cornucopia of knowledge, history, and a wide range of members that bring a lot to the association.  Together we are a powerful force and with that power comes great responsibility, we need to ensure we are acting as one and serving each other.

FASFAA’s greatest strength is our membership, to continue to maintain our association, please consider volunteering for the many areas that we have available.  If you’re too busy now, consider volunteering throughout the year or at our annual conference.  You can find our volunteer form on our website.

Our annual conference will be held in Fort Myers, May 22-26, 2023 – see the save the date information below.  Stay tuned for more communications from the conference committee.

As you can see, we’ve hit the ground running and we will continue to serve this association throughout the year.
