President's Message

Hello FASFAA Family!

Welcome to the most pivotal year in recent financial aid history! As we emerge from a global pandemic, we head into "A Whole New World" centered around FAFSA Simplification. If you haven't done so already, please renew your membership for 23-24 so you can enjoy all of the benefits FASFAA has to offer!

FASFAA’s greatest strength is our membership, to continue to maintain our association, please consider volunteering for the many areas that we have available. If you’re too busy now, consider volunteering throughout the year or at our annual conference.

Our training committee is chaired by VP of Training Jessica Ly will be focused on providing you with exceptional trainings throughout the course of this year leading up to our conference. Feel free to reach out to your region representative if there are topics you would like to learn more about.

Here are some of the goals and objectives we will be working on for you this year:

  1. Renew & update our Strategic Plan
  2. Review and update our bylaws
  3. Provide support to students and families across the state in understanding and completing the 24-25 FAFSA through our partnership with the Florida College Access Network and Florida Shines
  4. Strengthen our relationship with our Business Partners
  5. Improve our leadership pipeline through our LEAP program
  6. Provide our award winning Clock Hour Workshop and additional trainings throughout the year
  7. Provide financial aid directors and enrollment managers the opportunity to meet and interact at our Director's Summit during the annual conference
  8. Support the Bonnie Pirkle Scholarship fund
  9. Advocate on behalf of our members and their institutions, students and families

Our annual conference will be held in Port Charlotte, May 20-24, 2024 at the brand new Sunseeker Resort! Opening in October 2023, it is the perfect place for us to meet to talk and learn about all things financial aid. Our conference theme is "A Whole New World" and we will explore it together! Keep an eye out in late November/early December for communications from the conference committee.

Please make sure you're watching our FASFAA Members main listserv to receive our emails and updates. Subscribe to any others that apply to you as well. Be sure to check your spam/junk/quarantine folders. Follow us on our LinkedIn page and Insta (@OfficialFasfaa).

As you can see, we're working hard to make sure we are meeting your needs! We'd love to have you be more involved in the Association. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at one of our events.
