Statement of Candidacy

I am incredibly thankful to accept the nomination for FASFAA President-Elect.  The organization is very dear to me and has helped form so many personal and professional relationships in my life and I would be proud to give back and serve in this role.

I have 20 years of experience in Financial Aid and feel that I would be very prepared to assume this role.  I have held many positions in my career, starting as an entry-level planner and working my way up to management.  This progression has provided me the opportunity to see how every role has in impact at the institution, with students and families, and within the Financial Aid community.  Additionally, my professional experiences, especially those overseeing regulatory and compliance functions will be incredibly valuable in the current evolving landscape in our industry.

I’ve been an active member of the financial aid community serving on the FASFAA board for the past two consecutive years, previously as the Global Issues Chair and currently as the Federal and State Legislative Chair.  I also often volunteer for FASFAA and SASFAA helping out at conferences or serving on committees.  I have been a long-time member of NASFAA and have earned the Administrative Capability credential.

I truly believe in the value of FASFAA and would help to fully support its mission.  The training opportunities, fellowship, personal and professional growth opportunities it provides are invaluable.  The need for a strong and united organization to forge ahead is more prevalent than ever before and I would be honored to carry that torch.

Thank you for the nomination and the opportunity to serve.
