Bio & Candidacy Statement

Dear esteemed members of FASFAA,

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Presidency of the Florida Association of Financial Student Aid Administrators (FASFAA). It is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I present myself as a candidate for this esteemed position. I started my financial aid career as a work study student filing papers. I earned the field through working for Daytona State College, University of Miami, St. Johns River College and Bethune Cookman. University. Recently I earned my Certified Financial Aid Administrator certificate through NASFAA. I am a present member of NASFAA SASFAA and FASFAA. I have had the opportunity to work on the board of FAFSA as Private Schools Liaison.

Having been an active participant in the field of student financial aid for thirty years, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and opportunities that shape our industry. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to advocating for policies that promote accessibility, equity, and transparency in education financing.

  1. If entrusted with the honor of serving as your President, I pledge to:
  2. Champion the interests of all FASFAA members, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
  3. Work tirelessly to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of FAFSA processes, making it easier for students and families to navigate.
  4. Collaborate with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for legislation that supports student financial aid programs and promotes higher education affordability.
  5. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within FASFAA, recognizing the importance of representing the varied perspectives and experiences of our membership.
  6. Empower FASFAA members through professional development opportunities, resources, and networking initiatives.

I believe that together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and families across the nation by ensuring that financial aid remains accessible and equitable for all who seek to pursue higher education.

I humbly ask for your support and vote in the upcoming election. Together, let us work towards a future where every student has the opportunity to achieve their academic dreams, regardless of financial circumstances.

Thank you for considering my candidacy. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and the entire FASFAA community.

Sincerely,

Kevin T McCrary, Director of Financial Aid Services, Bethune Cookman University
